Herschede 5 tube clock with mahogany case, Pattern #99 , dated 1904, as shown on page 239 of Longclose Clocks and Standing Regulators by Tran Duy Ly. It is the first case to have oval beveled glass. The works are by the German company, Winterhalder & Hofmier. The tubes are all stamped Elite Patent Dec. 4 1900. They are the highest quality tube resonating for a long period after being struck. This has been professionally cleaned and oiled and is in good working order. The striking on the hour needs a slight adjustment and it sounds the quarter hour. Oval beveled glass inserts in front door and on 2 sides. Ornately carved columns & bead work. Measures 95.5"H x 27.25"W x 17"D. Condition report: good condition, see photos.
